Package contains:

  • 1 - 2kg of mushroom grain spawn ready and waiting to inoculate bulk substrate.
  • Grain is Australian-grown wheat sterilised at 121°C in an industrial autoclave.
  • Prepared in our purpose-built, high quality cleanrooms and laboratory facility.  

Hint: We use around 250g of grain spawn per 10L bucket of substrate.

Note: Mushroom spawn does not come with instructions.

STORAGE

Chill in the fridge until ready to use. Use within three months for best results.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Mycelium is extremely sensitive to temperature changes and transport conditions. Mushroom grain spawn is alive with mushroom mycelium. That’s why we strongly recommend shipping grain spawn via Express Post.  

Dispatch

We ship orders Monday to Thursday. We do not dispatch grain spawn on Fridays to avoid it being in transit over weekends due to its heat sensitve nature. Any orders placed on Thursday after 12pm or Friday will be dispatched the following Monday.

Please note this applies to all orders, including Express Post shipments.

Once your order has been shipped, you’ll receive an email with your tracking link so you can stay up to date with where your order is at.

Delivery times

Growing details

SPECIES DESCRIPTION

Species name: Pleurotus ostreatus var. Warm White

This variety of Pleurotus ostreatus forms large caps with strong stems. Colour varies from a creamy white when grown at warm temperatures, to a dark caramel when grown in cold temperatures. The colour can vary so greatly that it looks like a completely different variety depending on growing conditions.

The Warm White Oyster is an extremely vigorous variety and a great one for beginners. This variety can be grown in a broad range of temperatures including warmer temperatures up to 30°C, perfect for home growers.

This variety has a heavy spore load.

PREFERRED SUBSTRATE

Warm White Oysters can be grown on a variety of substrates including hardwood sawdust, barley straw, and sugarcane mulch.

Performs well in buckets and reusable containers.

For highest yields and heaviest clusters grow on supplemented hardwood sawdust or Masters Mix.

INCUBATION

Incubation period: 10 - 21 days (depends on substrate). Average incubation period is 14 days.

Incubation temperature: Room temperature between 21 - 24°C. Do not let the substrate temperature exceed 30°C.

PINNING CONDITIONS

Pinning temperature: 10 - 24°C 

Pinning humidity: 90 - 95% relative humidity

FRUITING CONDITIONS

Fruiting temperature:

Range: 10 - 30°C
Ideal:
18 - 24°C

Fruiting humidity: 85 - 90% relative humidity

CO2 concentration: 500 - 800 ppm
